“Spring has sprung” as the say (in most places anyway). Here in the Big Easy, the steamy air and the thermostat have been turned way up. I say it’s time for some refreshing cool stuff. Green works! It screams the season. If you live in the muggy sub tropical swamp, it’s also very influential.
I just love chrysoprase. So cool and fresh.
I have always been enamored by stones set into stones and was recently inspired by another artist to go knock my own fine self out.
So that was, um, harder than it looks. The other attempts bit the dust. However, I did make some other “Spring” inspired stuff. It’s May, so I took some emeralds out of my vault.
Yes, I know. It’s wacky, but I just had to make it. Not for wallflowers.
Here’s something for the more demure emerald lover!
Up next, something unusual: “Sugarcane” emeralds! Never heard of them? Neither had I. They are from one mine in Brazil, and they are très cool. Seen here with raw tourmaline crystals.
I bought a sheet of beautiful stalactites from my Uruguay miner. I just couldn’t get over the beautiful teal centers, with amethyst edges. I picked the two lightest slices and paired them with some gorgeous Australian boulder opals. The rest of them are going to become pendants.
A little something to match…
