I get bored easily. Good thing I have tourmalines in my life. They come in all kinds of colors, patterns, and have characteristics that fascinate the hell out of me. (OK, so maybe I’m just as easily amused).
Legend has it that tourmaline traveled along a rainbow to gather all of its colors. Works for me.
Since October is just a sneeze away, and tourmaline is one of the birthstones for October, I would like to showcase a bevy of my baubles dedicated to this particular rock. You may have seen a few of these trinkets before (only this time with better pictures!) in addition to some new stuff hot off the bench.
Watermelon Tourmaline Slice Double Drop Earrings with Peridot Briolettes
Watermelon tourmalines, look like, well, watermelons. They are generally green with pink interiors; the crystals are cut into cross sections. FYI: Watermelon tourmalines represent the “heart” chakra. Pink tourmalines inspire love and devotion. These are just “Miss Matched” enough to be interesting – they are finished with peridot briolettes, which I think really look great with the watermelons. Peridot is a powerful protection stone and particularly beneficial for cleansing negative emotions, such as jealousy or a wounded ego.

I’ve presented these before, and I have not rephotographed them (yet) but they are so beautiful (to me) that I really felt they needed to be included in this little tribute to the rock. These are very unusual, and extremely tough to photograph – which is why I’ve been avoiding the task! Yellow tourmaline slices, rose cut, with pale blue interiors. They were put together with rose cut Champagne citrines, and Champagne diamonds. What’s not to like?

Yellow tourmalines represent personal power and intelligence; the blue centers bring peace, balance and communication. Citrines bring the wearer success, wealth, abundance and dispel negative energy. Diamonds (the best friend) add love, power and strength to the mix.
