It happens to the best of us. One minute we’re swinging our head around showing off our fabulous earrings, the next minute we’re grabbing a naked earlobe and crawling on the floor. Bummer.
Last year, my friend Bruno’s friend (courtesy of social media phenomenon!) Michele became a “fan” of my “page” and eventually acquired a couple of things, including a really cool pair of stalactite earrings.
Last month, Michele sent me this almost “frantic” email:
“I lost one of the amethyst stalagmite earrings and am really upset. Can I either 1) purchase a replacement or 2) do something with the remaining, like make a necklace out of it? I’m so bummed. I love those earrings! Please advise!”
What to do, what to do… Since I can’t really “replace” a stalactite – they really are “One Of A Kind”, I advised her to make a necklace. The beauty of it is you can go simple with just a chain like these babies:
Really do it up like this:
Or go somewhere in-between. The upside of losing an earring that (ahem) I happen to make, is that I usually have goodies that can work with the piece, like, say a strand of similar labradorite. Michele went with this look:
The cool thing about social media (and Lord knows I never thought I would say THAT) is that you encounter people that you never would have otherwise. This Spring, I will get to meet Michele. Is that cool or what?
Want your very own stalactite bauble? Check out some of the stuff in my etsy shop here: STALACTITE
We will indeed get to see Michele at JF ! ……….. with the necklace ?
Great pieces Lydia 🙂
Merci mon ami!!
